The presentation is done in the style of the Oscars with three nominees and generates quite a buzz. The Award Lunch is a biennial event and was first awarded in 2000. Previous speakers were the Earl of Harewood, Chris Smith (when Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport; 2000), David Mellor (2002), Janet Street Porter (2004), Sir Simon Jenkins (2006) and Ian McMillan (2008).
